Ministry Fair

The Adult Education/Faith Formation Committee wishes to thank all the people who helped in any way with the Ministry Fair. This project could not have been accomplished without them. We thank Father Dennis Riter for his support, the office staff for all their cooperation, and the Ministry leaders of the parish for their time and enthusiasm. The Pastoral Council’s breakfast was a great treat. Special thanks to G&E tents, Carriage House, and Cliffstar for their help. Diocesan organizations who participated in the Fair were the Cursillo-Fruit of the Vine Ultreya, as well as the Dunkirk Knights of Columbus and our regional Catholic School, Northern Chautauqua Catholic. There are many other people who wish to remain anonymous, such as those who prepared posters and brochures, etc. But we are grateful to them also.
If you were unable to attend the fair, there will be some brochures in the vestibule of church for you to look over. The ministries we have to offer are listed inside the brochure. There is a form on the back, which if you would fill out and drop in the offertory basket or at the rectory office, will help to update our information for Parish records. Again, we are all disciples-sharing time, treasure and talent. (Bulletin 6/26/11)

Summer Spanish Mission

Each year our local Hispanic community holds a Spanish-language Mission here as part of an evangelization outreach. This is in cooperation with the Diocesan Office of Cultural Diversity. This year the “Mision de Verano” will be held on Sunday, July 17, beginning at the 2:30 p.m. Mass. It will include a picnic and talks on the theme of “family” and will be led by a lay couple, Brother Alaidino Rodriguez and his wife, Maria, who reside in New Jersey. A musical group from Holy Cross Parish in Buffalo will participate. Bulletin (Bulletin 6/26/11)

Major Work in NCCS Gym

An anonymous donor has contributed a new gym floor for the gymnasium at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School. This will entail removal of the present floor, pouring a new reinforced and perfectly flat concrete floor about 2 inches below present grade and finally the installation of a new hardwood floor. Due to the scope of this work, there will be no access to the gym for the last week of June plus all of July and August. (Bulletin 6/12/11)

Parish Summer Picnic

This year the picnic will be held on a Saturday evening. The date is August 20 and as usual will take place at Point Gratiot. We need parishioners who will help to organize the picnic and give suggestions. Can you help in any way? Please come to a meeting on Monday, June 13 at 7 p.m. in the rectory meeting room.
